Hello, welcome to the finnish AYC website.
On this page, you will find all the information you need to participate to the event from Finland and you can also register.
The official English website for the event.
TO WHOM
The Adventist Youth Congress is a spiritual event held every four years for young adults aged 18–35 across Europe.
Young people between 16 and 18 over can also participate in the event if they are accompanied by someone at least four years older who is willing to take responsibility for them and their guardians give their permission for it. Ask Tiina for more information about this opportunity.
LOCATION
The congress was originally planned to be held in Italy, but due to economic circumstances, the event will return to Valencia, Spain, where the 2017 congress was also held.
The venue is the Feria de Valencia convention center, located at Av. de les Fires, s/n, Pobles de l’Oest, 46035 València, Spain.
THEME
The theme of the event is “MADE FOR MORE – Belonging. Believing. Becoming.”
We all have a longing for purpose, wholeness, and even change. What this world cannot offer is the very thing what God has an answer for.
SPEAKERS
Damian Chandler
Pastor Damian Chandler, born in Toronto and raised in Barbados, encountered Jesus at 16
through the prayers of believers meeting in his home. He has since served in churches across the U.S.—from Seattle to Huntsville to Sacramento—and currently serves as associate youth director for the South-Central Conference, planting a new church in Nashville.
A gifted storyteller, he authored The Crooked Christmas Tree and I Am Jon, inspiring many through his simple, relatable view of the gospel. Above all, Damian treasures his family—his wife Tanzy, and their children Zoe, Salem, and Levi.
Ivana Mendez
Ivana Mendez holds an MA in Education from the Matej Bel University, Faculty of Humanities in Slovakia and an MA in Theology (New Testament) from the Friedensau Adventist University (Newbold College). She worked as a teacher, translator, project manager in the Slovak Bible Society, pastor in the South England Conference of Seventh day Adventists and in the Scottish Mission. Currently, she is a lecturer of biblical languages and in biblical studies at Newbold College of Higher Education.
PROGRAM
The program begins on Tuesday evening, August 4, with an opening meeting and ends on Saturday evening, August 8. In addition to joint gatherings, the congress offers a wide range of activities and workshops. You can find more information about these on the event website as they are updated. The congress language is English.

TRAVEL
Each participant is responsible for their own travel expenses and any independent accommodation arrangements. If you feel uncertain about traveling alone or with friends, please feel free to ask Tiina for tips and assistance if you need them.
Finnair operates a direct flight from Helsinki to Valencia on Tuesdays, so if you want to spend a couple of days on vacation after the conference, for example, these flights would be easy to travel with. Of course, there are many other options, such as Norwegian’s direct flights to Alicante or flights to Madrid, from where you can take a train to Valencia.
ACCOMMODATION
Conference package: Accommodation for the event is in the conference center in one large hall filled with tents. Each guest needs their own sleeping mat, bag and other necessary equipment for the night. The event organizer provides the tents. This is the most economical option.
Independent: If you wish, you can also book your own accommodation in the surrounding area, but be sure to do so well in advance, as several thousand others may also be looking for accommodation soon.
REGISTRATION
Please register for the event by May 15, link below.
The conference fee must be paid by May 28 using the following account details.
